The ECNR Courses in Latin America

The European Course in Neuroradiology – Diagnostic and Interventional (ECNR), main course of the European Society of Neuroradiology – Diagnostic and Interventional (ESNR), took place for the first time in Latin America in 2017.

This course came to Brazil thanks to the Agreement of ESNR and the European Board of Neuroradiology (EBNR) with the Sociedade Paulista de Radiologia e Diagnóstico por Imagem (SPR) to benefit Latin American professionals. Being a replication of the European course content, it is called European Course in Neuroradiology – Diagnostic and Interventional in Latin America (ECNR Latam).

The ECNR Latam follows the program of the ECNR in Europe and offers an intensive scientific program of four days, with theoretical classes in the morning and workshops in the afternoon. It is important to point out that the ECNR Latam is equivalent to courses conducted by the ESNR in Europe.

Faculty from Europe and from Latin America have the mission to teach the participants the basic content of neuroradiology that every professional trained in this area should know.

A multiple-choice examination is held at the end of each module. EBNR issues a certificate with the result for each examinee.

In 2019, the ECNR Latam came to Colombia, following the agreement signed between ESNR, EBNR and the Colombian Association of Radiology (ACR). The ACR organizes the second cycle of the course in Latin America.

The ECNR Latam Cycle 2 started in October 2019 with the first module, that was held in Cartagena.

Participants in Latin America who attend the four modules in Latin America, pass the multiple-choice examinations after all 4 modules and fulfil the eligibility criteria of the EBNR (www.ebnr.org) are able to register to the Final Examination held in Europe.
